Beautiful dark colour. Nose with lots of fresh red and black fruits like cherries, blueberries and strawberries. The wine enjoys a lively acidity which gives a grape like St Laurent all its typical tension and charisma. At the same time, the wine is nicely full-bodied and endowed with enviable finesse and elegance. Drink it lightly chilled in summer if necessary.
A red wine whose fresh and pure character makes it perfect for drinking chilled in summer but also delicious with various vegetarian dishes, white meat and poultry or young hard cheeses.

Carnuntum is located in Lower Austria's southernmost and warmest wine region, on the Danube. It is characterised by a dry summer and a fairly warm autumn, allowing the grapes to ripen optimally. It is an offshoot of the Pannonian plain that benefits from a microclimate and is protected from the cold from the north by forests. The Danube regulates and flattens temperature peaks.

Harvested by hand in early September. Fermentation is started spontaneously with 100% natural yeasts and with the entire bunches. After 10 days, the bunches are gently pressed and transferred into large, old wooden barrels. Malolactic fermentation is started after which the wine rests further for 6 months in the same barrels. No more filtering or siphoning.
